Rev. María Uitti McCabe
Rev. María Uitti McCabe currently serves the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Harford County, MD and is concluding her third year at the Fellowship. She came to Harford County after serving the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Restoration in Philadelphia as intern minister and Director of Social Justice and Community Ministries. She was ordained to ministry in June, 2017 at First Unitarian Church of Wilmington, DE.
She fell in love with Unitarian Universalism 16 years ago, after a liftetime of spiritual seeking and theological exploration. She has been a television journalist, a global Leadership Communication consultant, homeschooling mom and lifelong social justice activist. She will tell you that serving as a minister is what she was always meant to do. A native speaker of Spanish, Rev. María grew up in a bilingual, bi-racial and bi-cultural home. She identifies as a minister of color and takes enormous pride in her multiracial heritage. Her personal history fuels her vision of inclusive and just community.
She lives with her husband Mike and their elderly cat Nemo in Kennett Square, PA. Their young adult children Luc and Alix were raised in Unitarian Universalism. They frequently come home for a good meal and help with their laundry.
